Somerset County Council choose NEC to support their youth offending service

Somerset County Council are the first Youth Offending service to contract to the NEC’s Pathways Youth Offending Case Management Solution

Somerset County Council have chosen Pathways in a bid to digitally transform how they manage youth offending cases and give their team more time to support young people on their justice journey.

Pathways helps manage a young person’s record right through to completion, including appointments, notes, intervention programmes, case plans, AssetPlus assessments and more. It’s easy to use, makes light work of reporting, simplifies collaboration, and integrates with other systems. So Youth Offending Teams can work efficiently and remain focused on young people.

Lise Bird, who is the Prevention and YOS Head of Service at Somerset County Council, said:

“We can’t wait to go live and use the system, after the UAT training the staff saw how user friendly the solution was and how functionally richer it is when compared to the case management system we are currently using.”

NEC are now working closely with Somerset County Council in the deployment stages and have achieved several key milestones, including Business change workshops, Training needs analysis, Regression testing, User acceptance testing training and User acceptance testing sign off.

By keeping Pathways fully compliant with the latest Youth Justice Board requirements for data transfer, NEC are able to support Somerset County Council effectively throughout the deployment process.

Marco Fiorentino, NEC’s Director of Justice & Enforcement, on Pathways Youth Offending Case Managements first contract and providing software in the justice:

“We’re really excited about launching Pathways Youth Offending into the market and couldn’t think of a better partner to work with than Somerset County Council. They are forward thinking and share the same mindset we do. We’re dedicated to supporting digital transformation throughout the criminal justice process and this partnership is a great step in achieving that.”
