NEC Software Solutions return as sponsors of the Healthcare Partnership Network (HPN) South 2026, taking place on 15-16 October at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Heathrow. 

The Healthcare Partnership Network (HPN) South is an invitation-only event that brings together senior leaders from the NHS, Integrated Care Systems (ICSs), and healthcare technology providers to collaborate, share experiences, and explore innovative solutions to today’s healthcare challenges. 

The key themes for this year’s event include digital transformation to align with the NHS’ 10-year plan, harnessing the potential of AI, data and analytics and collaboration across primary, secondary, community and mental health services for integrated delivery.

David East, Head of NEC Rego will present on ‘Beyond single point of access: Lessons from the front line of referral transformation’. 

Single Point of Access (SPoA) is one of the most significant changes to NHS referral pathways in recent years. Intended to support earlier specialist input, improve the use of clinical capacity and help patients access the most appropriate next step in their care, it is rapidly becoming a cornerstone of outpatient transformation.

As implementation progresses, however, important questions are emerging around referral quality, clinical triage, workforce capacity, pathway design and operational oversight.

Drawing on feedback from across the healthcare system and practical experience supporting referral transformation programmes, David will explore what organisations are learning from early adoption and what it will take for SPoA to deliver on its promise.
