Challenge  

The field professionals needed quick access to regulatory information that was lengthy, highly technical and difficult to search manually during on-site work. 

Handling complex regulations –  The field professional struggled in discovering fast, accurate answers within core books that was complex, highly technical and not feasible to search manually during on-site work. 

Unstructured and inconsistent documentation –  The regulations are unstructured pdfs with inconsistent formatting made it difficult to carry out reliable extraction and efficient search. 

Ambiguous and context-driven queries –  The professionals could not find their exact answers as the queries where situational and context driven, increasing the risk of misinterpretation and regulatory non-compliance. 

Solution  

To address the challenges of manual search, we designed a Virtual Assistant an intelligent, AI-powered assistant built on an agentic architecture designed for regulated, technical content.   

AI powered assistant built on Agentic RAG –  Our AI engineering team implemented an Agentic Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture that leverages multiple specialised agents to handle key processes such as understanding the query, retrieving information, detecting ambiguity and ensuring accurate and context-aware information. This enables VA to deliver precise answers from the authorised regulatory codebooks. 

Multi-Agent Orchestration for Accurate Query Handling – To enable fast and reliable search, we developed an orchestration layer, which acts like a workflow manager and co-ordinates with rest of the AI agents to ensure reliable and regulation-aware responses. 

Structured knowledge base for the fast information retrieval –  Our engineering experts transformed the complex regulation PDFs into a structured, metadata-enriched knowledge base, organised into well-defined sections aligned with the original regulatory framework. 

Each section captures the semantic meaning of the content. When a user submits a question, VA matches query intent with the most relevant sections, enabling fast and accurate semantic search.
