NPS recognised as finalist for critical communications award with Northern Ireland Ambulance Service

We’re delighted to have been shortlisted and crowned finalist in the Best Use of Critical Communications in Public Safety category at this year’s International Critical Communications Awards (ICCA).

The ICCAs recognise the best and most innovative work taking place in the critical communications sector, with other categories including Young Engineer of the Year, and Outstanding Contribution to Critical Communications. Originally set to take place alongside the global mega-event, Critical Communications World in Madrid, the event was migrated to a virtual environment – with all finalists delivering presentations to an international audience, before the winners were announced.

Judges shortlisted NPS based on our partnership work with Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, when our teams and theirs pulled out all the stops to create an emergency control room in a matter of days, as part of the COVID emergency response.

We’re proud to support emergency services organisations around the world, and no more so in this situation when the collaboration resulted in the safeguarding of many frontline control room employees fielding emergency calls during the coronavirus pandemic. This second control room enabled the control room teams at the ambulance service to carry out their roles while adhering to social distancing rules.
