The NCG is chaired by ACC Matt Welsted from West Midlands Police.

The NCG will represent the collective view of members and will be a collaborative, engaging, and productive forum, where ideas can be shared, and issues aired in an open, safe environment. It is intended that the NCG will be an influential body in shaping the optimal utilisation and development of the platform,and engage with stakeholders on matters of mutual interest. 

The NCG does not have decision making rights related to individual forces’ contractual agreements with NEC. The NCG will provide a forum for sharing knowledge, consolidation of effort, maintaining the product and agreement of national common values, alongside providing a single point of contact for external bodies wishing to make contact with Connect. The NCG will represent the collective view of members and will be a collaborative, engaging, and productive forum, where ideas can be shared, and issues aired in an open, safe environment.
